Call For Calm After Killing
​Zithulele Wiseman Mshibe
Mayor Obed Mlaba has called for calm and for the police to apprehend those responsible for the killing of eThekwini Councillor Zithulele Wiseman Mshibe. Mshibe, an ANC PR Councillor, was shot dead at his home in Yellowwood Park on Tuesday night. SAPS Brigadier Phindile Radebe said,
 
 
 
 
 
“He arrived from a Councillors’ meeting around 9.30pm.Outside his driveway he was attacked by unknown men who shot him.” According to a Sapa report, Mshibe (40) tried to escape by reversing out of the driveway. Although wounded five times, he managed to drive to the KFC in Montclair for help. The fatherof- three died later at St Augustine’s Hospital.
 
Mlaba said, “On behalf of the Municipality I’d like to convey our sincere condolences to the family, fellow Councillors and staff of the eThekwini Municipality. “We appeal to the police to leave no stone unturned in finding and bringing to book the perpetrators of this heinous crime who have deprived us of a hard working Councillor. “We call on our people to remain calm and let the law take its course,” he said. Mlaba was reluctant to speculate on the reasons for the shooting.
